Georgia wants to host the Winter Olympic Games 2030

Georgia is striving to show the world its diverse and iconic winter areas as the best places to experience an unforgettable winter adventure.

For this reason a new six-minute video ‘Discover Georgia’ has been released, showing the combination of dozens of breathtaking views of Georgia’s six main mountain resorts – Gudauri, Bakuriani, Mestia, Goderdzi, Bakhmaro and Racha.

The video not only encourages winter enthusiasts to visit Georgia and hit the mountain slopes here, but also shows the country’s favorable investment environment, its leading positions in international rankings, its cultural heritage and strategically important location.

The video gives all reasons to tourists as well as investors to come to Georgia and enjoy the magnificent mountain ranges that cover 65 percent of the country.

As Georgia’s goal is to become the host country of the Olympic winter sports competitions, the country’s government has already started negotiations in this direction.

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has already met the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach in Lausanne, Switzerland this week.

At the meeting Kvirikashvili presented exactly this video to Bach to make an impression of Georgia’s winter wonderlands and show the recent infrastructural developments.

Georgia’s goal to become a host country of the Olympic Games was highlighted at the meeting.

It was decided that the International Olympic Committee will send a special group of experts and advisers to Georgia to learn about development in the country’s mountain resorts and future prospects in the industry.
